John and his
wife Bets, have owned a successful and highly respected studio for the last
25 years. John has personally photographed over 1500 weddings. The Gorman's
have given many seminars to professional photographers throughout
California.
John holds a
Craftsman degree from the Professional Photographers of America and a
Fellowship degree from the Professional Photographers of California. He is
past president of the Professional Photographers of San Diego County. He has
been a winner in portrait competition at the local, regional and national
levels. He is published in "Behind the Camera".
Kodak-Pathe of
France invited them to be the keynote speakers at their photographic
convention in Paris. Following the convention, the Gorman's presented
one-day seminars to professional portraitists in seven French cities.
John, having
been a photojournalist for several years before opening his studio,
appreciates the fact that many of today's brides are looking for a more
casual approach in their wedding photography. The Gorman's have incorporated
this style into their wedding day coverage. However, they feel strongly that
beautifully posed and lighted portraits are very important on the wedding
day. In the end, the elegant portraits seem to be the images that are most
cherished.
All of the
portraits seen here on our web site were done, on location, on the day of
the wedding. Some were taken at the bride's home. Others were taken at
church halls or at a designated room at a hotel. |
